MNRY for Good

DELVE INTO OUR ETHICAL PHILOSOPHY

MNRY develops beautifully crafted products with an authentic and consistent consideration to responsible production. We draw inspiration and energy from nature. We appreciate, respect and nourish the world around us. We work not only to reduce our impact on the environment, but also to give back and contribute positively to the communities we work with. We focus on three key pillars: Earth; Community; and Circularity.

Protecting forests, climate,and biodiversity.

WE ARE PARTNERED WITH THE INDEPENDENT ENVIRONMENTAL NOT-FOR-PROFIT CANOPY TO SUPPORT TWO INITIATIVES: CANOPYSTYLE AND PACK4GOOD.

Some fabrics and, of course paper and packaging, come from forests. We are taking action to change that and collaborating to build a future where our world’s ancient and endangered forests as well as the carbon they store and the wildlife and forest-based communities that call them home are supported and protected.

All of our tree-based fabric (modal) comes from a single producer (Lenzing) which has achieved the highest level “a dark green shirt” ranking in Canopy’s Hot Button Report. This annual report assesses producers on their level of risk of sourcing from Ancient and Endangered Forests, their leadership on advocating for conservation legacies, sourcing of FSC fibre and their work to advance the commercial-scale production of innovative lower impact materials.

Beyond our textile sourcing, we are partnering with Canopy to do a deep dive into our packaging to ensure they are made of recycled post-consumer content. If any trees are used, we will work with Canopy to ensure they are not coming from ancient and endangered forests and are FSC certified and that the Free, Prior and Informed Consent of local communities was given prior to logging.

Our work with Canopy to meet these commitments will include supporting lasting conservation in the world’s forests and will continue to 2022.

Conscious tannery, genuine leathers.

OUR LEATHERS COME FROM ONE OF THE WORLD’S FINEST TANNERIES.

Located on the outskirts of the iconic canal city of Venice, and not too far from Milan, the fashion capital of Italy, our principle tannery is a critical member of our supply chain.

It is a Gold Member, the highest status awarded, of the Leather Working Group (LWG), a consortium of stakeholders that develop and maintain rigid protocols to assess the environmental compliance and performance capabilities of leather manufacturers. The LWG works with leading technical experts and industry leaders to promote sustainability and transparency.

Earning the status of a 'Gold Member' is rigid. It means tanneries heed much attention to their environmental and chemical management systems, ban restricted substances, minimize their energy consumption and water usage, focus on materials traceability, and ensure the safety, health, and emergency preparedness of their workers.

It means our tannery was scored an 85 or above after being evaluated on all the elements that matter. It's a feat.

Creating a beautiful sustainable fashion brand that is honest to our customers, respectful to our employees and our planet is of utmost importance. From the very beginning, we are proud to say Thilikó has been on the path towards sustainability.

  • Leather Industry

The craft of making leather dates back as far as 3000 to 5000 B.C., when leather was used for sandals, clothes, buckets and more.  This makes the leather industry one of the oldest manufacturing sectors in the world. The raw hides and skins used in the leather industry come from a waste product of the meat and diary industry.

  • Leather Sustainability

The sustainability of leather is a hot topic in for example the fashion industry, which is encountering a selection of alternative materials and sometimes confusing messaging. Fact is that properly made and sourced leather is a truly sustainable material. Leather is:
